What is the relationship between qigong and TCM

19-02-01 qigong net

Qigong is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine. The methods, theories and therapeutic effects of qigong are recorded in huangdi neijing, the earliest extant medical classic in China, which was written more than 2000 years ago. Among the eighty-one chapters of su wen, there are more than ten that directly or indirectly talk about qigong. It can be seen that before the spring and autumn period, qigong has become an important method of medical care.

From the history of the development of traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese doctors in past dynasties attach great importance to qigong. Not only in the works on qigong, and many famous doctors themselves are qigong practitioners. For example, zhang zhongjing, a famous doctor in the han dynasty, said in his masterpiece synopsis of the golden chamber: "only the limbs can feel the heavy stagnation, that is, to induce vomiting, acupuncture paste mo, do not make the nine orifices blocked. Here said "guided vomit na" is a method of qigong. The famous "wuqinxi" is said to have been created by hua tuo, a famous doctor in the han dynasty. Later jin dynasty scholar-officials by holding tastes, tao hongjing... of the northern and southern dynasties by "raises a gender life record", sui dynasty nest yuan fang's "theory of various pathogenic syndrome", sun simiao in tang dynasty by the pre-emergency daughter s, Wang Dao by Taiwan secret to outside, the st. Xavier always record the song dynasty and jinyuan four everybody's writings were qigong in this paper. Li shizhen, a famous doctor in the Ming dynasty, pointed out in his study of the eight strange meridians that "only the viewer can observe the inner tunnel." That is to say, in the process of practicing some static work can be aware of the body's meridian changes. Both ye tianshi and wu jutong, famous thermologists in the qing dynasty, practiced and discussed qigong. Zhang xichun, a famous doctor in modern times, also wrote a chapter on qigong in his book "sanxilu for medical reasons". From the above mentioned famous doctors and the relationship between treatises and qigong, we can know the long history of qigong health preservation, and we can see the important position of qigong in traditional Chinese medicine.

As a branch of traditional Chinese medicine, qigong is mainly based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine. It also applies the theories of Yin and Yang, five elements, zang-fu organs, meridians and vital energy to guide the creation and compilation of exercises and qigong. Up to now, the effects of qigong exercise and qigong mechanism have been mainly explained by the theory of traditional Chinese medicine. Of course, since ancient times, qigong practice is not only unique to doctors. Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, martial arts and other schools have formed their own understanding of qigong and formed part of qigong theory in their different practices.

The results of qigong practice also provide new contents for traditional Chinese medicine. For example, li shizhen and zhang jingyue, the medical scientists in the Ming dynasty, respectively elucided the theory of the eight arteries of the strange meridian and the theory of the life gate of the red field, which were to a large extent based on the practice of qigong. Qigong emphasizes the use of the mind, which is the supplement and development of the theory of regulating the mind and the theory of emotion. Mastering the characteristics of qigong's practice of mind, body and mind is conducive to a deep understanding of the overall concept of "the unity of form and spirit" and "the unity of heaven and man" in TCM. The traditional therapeutic methods such as qigong acupuncture and qigong massage can also improve the clinical efficacy and open up new therapeutic approaches.
