Major Chinese medicine promotion events are held in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, Oct. 25 (xinhua) -- more than 100 popular science activities will be held in Hong Kong over the next two months to promote the wider use of Chinese medicine in Hong Kong.
With the theme of "spreading TCM health culture and improving people's health literacy", "TCM China walk" is a national popularization campaign of TCM initiated by more than 20 ministries and commissions including the state administration of traditional Chinese medicine. Hong Kong is one of the stations.
The Hong Kong station will be jointly organised by the state administration of traditional Chinese medicine, the food and health bureau of the hksar government and the department of health from 25 this month to 31 December.
Addressing the launch ceremony, yu yanhong, secretary of the party and deputy secretary of the state administration of traditional Chinese medicine, expressed the hope that the Hong Kong event would guide the public to enhance their understanding of traditional Chinese medicine, develop healthy living habits with Chinese characteristics and enhance their recognition of the core values of traditional Chinese medicine.
Permanent secretary for food and health Xie Manyi speech said that the SAR government hope that through this large campaign showing the history of traditional Chinese medicine has a long history of traditional Chinese medicine, at the same time of inherit and carry forward the culture of traditional Chinese medicine, let the general public to experience the charm of traditional Chinese medicine and benefits, and to create momentum for the development of traditional Chinese medicine in Hong Kong.
In may this year, the food and health bureau set up the Chinese medicine department and the Chinese medicine hospital development scheme office to co-ordinate the development of the Chinese medicine industry and plan the first Chinese medicine hospital in Hong Kong. In the chief executive's policy address for 2018, the hksar government has announced the inclusion of Chinese medicine in the Hong Kong medical system. It is formulating and implementing a comprehensive policy to devote more resources to promoting the further development of Chinese medicine in Hong Kong.
There are traditional Chinese medicine knowledge exhibition, game stalls and free clinic activities.
