On the morning of January 29, the newly established TCM development bureau in nanyang city was officially established. It is understood that this is the first prefecture-level Chinese medicine administration department specially established in China, and it is one of the government departments. This is another innovation and attempt made by nanyang as a national TCM comprehensive reform experimental zone.
Nanyang is the hometown of zhang zhongjing, the doctor of traditional Chinese medicine. In 2012, nanyang was the first in China to set up a TCM administration at the department level. As a member of the national health and family planning commission, the administration of TCM or TCM development offices have been set up in 12 counties and districts of the city. The TCM development bureau is one of the 36 departments of the nanyang municipal government, along with the health and hygiene commission.
"As a new institution established under the background of nanyang's institutional reform, we will focus on both reform and industry, and promote the sound and rapid development of nanyang's traditional Chinese medicine." According to liu yubin, director of the nanyang TCM development bureau, the municipal party committee of nanyang has proposed to implement the strategy of strengthening the city with TCM and construct a major special project of zhongjing healthy city.
