World top 10 press releases on TCM in 2018

19-01-10 China Daily net

China Daily, jan 10 (xinhua) -- the world federation of Chinese medicine societies (WTCM) released the world top 10 news on TCM in 2018 in Beijing on jan 8. The Cairo declaration issued by the world congress of traditional Chinese medicine (WCCM) recognized the "world day of traditional Chinese medicine", and the new edition of the international classification of diseases issued by who and the core curriculum materials for the world traditional Chinese medicine (in Chinese and English) were selected.

On June 18, the world health organization (who) released the draft 11th edition of the international classification of diseases, which included traditional medicine into the classification system for the first time. The chapter on traditional medicine specifically mentions TCM, which originated in ancient China and is now used in China, Japan, South Korea and other parts of the world. Traditional medicine is used in many parts of the world, but often goes unrecorded and unreported. The new edition of the international classification of diseases will bring traditional medicine into the classification system and help to treat traditional medicine in a standardized and internationally comparable way. Medical practitioners will be able to measure traditional medicine in terms of form, frequency, effectiveness, safety, quality, outcomes and cost, and compare traditional medicine internationally through practice, research and reporting, according to the new edition of the international classification of diseases. Who spokesman tariq yasarevic says this will help integrate traditional medicine, including traditional Chinese medicine, into mainstream medicine.

The 15th world congress of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and the "One Belt And One Road" TCM culture week kicked off in Rome, Italy on November 17. Nearly 1,000 TCM industry representatives from more than 30 countries and regions attended the conference. The meeting issued the Rome declaration, which designated October 11 as the "world day of traditional Chinese medicine" every year.
